HAPPENINGS: For the Holidays

This is an exciting time of year when lots of special flavors rotate through our dipping cases. In addition to nearly 30 regular flavors, our holiday celebration begins with Egg Nog and Pumpkin. Rum Raisin, Cinnamon, Peppermint Stick and Peppermint Fudge Swirl all tingle the taste buds. Lebkuchen (or Pfefferkuchen), a German Holiday baked treat has been adapted to make a wonderful ice cream flavor. Salted Butter Caramel is back for a brief period also. So many choices and so much fun!

FLAVOR NAMING CONTEST: This year Tucker’s Ice Cream is supporting the Alameda Ballet’s production of the NUTCRACKER (www.alamedanutcracker.com). With the suggestions of the cast we have created an ice cream flavor representing the experience of the NUTCRACKER BALLET! With a base of Spanish Chocolate, a hint of Mandarin Orange, a taste of Ginger plus lemon and ginger snap cookies, this is a flavor begging for a name. To join in the contest, just stop by Tucker’s Ice Cream and sample the ice cream. Then submit your suggestion in the suggestion box or by email to . The winning name will be selected by a “Blue Ribbon Committee” on December 11th. The winner will receive two tickets to the NUTCRACKER BALLET plus a gift certificate for Tucker’s Ice Cream. Snowball Treats: Traditional Snowballs are vanilla bean rolled in coconut and decorated with holy leaves and berries plus a red candle. For those wishing other flavors of ice cream or rolling the “snowballs” in sprinkles, we ask you place your order by the 20th of December.

Baked Cakes: Always a special time of year, lots of choices for lots of favorites; Cakes by Tucker’s provide the richest and most decadent options for the holiday diner table. Some like our refreshing Strawberry Chiffon Cake with Whipped Cream Frosting. Coffee lovers enjoy the Mocha Crunch Cake while the chocoholics live to eat the Chocolate Mousse Cake MMM! For those with a perchance of German flavor the Black Forest Cake with a hint of schnapps is a hit. And for those with a bit of Southern Flair our Red Velvet Cake whose recipe comes from the Grandmother of a Southern Belle will set your taste buds

Ice Cream Cakes: Planned in advance, all the flavors in our dipping case are available for one or two layer cakes of delicious ice cream finished with a very special frosting for frozen desserts! Mudd pie drenched in chocolate is a special holiday treat. And for those who enjoy being the hit of the party, take our Pumpkin/Heath Bar Crunch cake with swirls of chocolate and caramel. And for those last minute shoppers stop in and pick up a traditional ice cream cake made with Cookies and Cream or Vanilla Bean or Chocolate or Chocolate Chip ~ WooHoo!

Thanksgiving: A time to wish all thanks for the gifts of the year. To all we wish a day of sharing and caring with family and friends. Tucker’s Ice Cream will be closed Thanksgiving Day that our employees may enjoy this time with their families.

SATURDAY ~ December 5th is the Rockwall Open House from noon until five pm. Tucker's will be there with some wonderfully delicious Zin ice Cream with Guitard Chocolate Chips, Of Course! Christmas Eve Day: We will be open 11:00 am until 5:00 pm to provide treats, snowballs, baked cakes and ice cream cakes. While we always have traditional snowballs for those last minute shoppers, we suggest special orders be placed by the 20ieth of December.

Christmas Day: Tucker’s will be closed.

New Year’s Eve: New Year’s Eve is a Thursday night and we will be open from 11:00 am to 9:30 pm.

New Year’s Day: Opening at 12 ~ Noon until 11:00 pm we will continue our tradition of making delicious Double Espresso Milkshakes with any flavor in our dipping case. Yumm!
